Phang Nga Bay, with its emerald green waters and stunning limestone islands, once again plays host to the third edition of the region’s premier experiential yachting event, The Thailand Yacht Show (TYS), staged in partnership with the Thai government.
Returning to Phuket’s AoPo Grand Marina from 22-25 February 2018, the next Thailand Yacht Show will be unlike any other boat show, with visitors being able to actually get out on the water and try out a whole range of watercraft. Held during the Lunar New Year, one of the busiest times on Phuket when it is buzzing with regional visitors, the Show will place an
emphasis on the experience visitors will have and how it will enhance their ongoing yachting lifestyle.
The experiential format of the Thailand Yacht Show gives local and international visitors an opportunity to climb aboard and trial some of the sailboats, sports-fishers, dinghies, tenders, watersport boats, dry cruisers and superyachts on display.
Combining the best aspects of yacht charter, the boating industry and luxury lifestyle events, the Thailand Yacht Show attracts industry professionals and consumers alike, and is fast becoming the focal point of the luxury charter yacht business in Asia Pacific.
Created by the organisers of the Singapore Yacht Show, the Thailand Yacht Show (TYS), in partnership with Thai government, combine the best aspects of yacht charter, boating industry and luxury lifestyle events. The Show attracts industry and consumers alike, and has become the focal point of the luxury charter yacht business in Asia Pacific.
With the launch of the first edition in February 2016, the Thailand Yacht Show has the objective of driving the Prime Minister's project to make Thailand the principal destination for yachting in Asia, and the winter destination of choice for superyacht owners and charterers from around the world.
The Thailand Yacht Show is a superyacht charter show with facilities for much larger vessels than have been on display at other industry events in the region; Superyachts in excess of 100m are even able to come into the Marina. It is also a key platform to showcase all range of boats and yachts including smaller boats from local and regional dealers, either for sale or charter.
The second edition of the new Thailand Yacht Show took place in December 2016 and provided visitors with an arrange of experiential opportunities, including sea trials and glamorous parties on superyachts, fashion shows, supercars and the very latest in on-water toys.
With 60 exhibitors, and 55 vessels on display - including 18 superyachts - the second edition of TYS, once again in partnership with the Thailand government was most certainly ‘bigger and better’.
Phuket and South East Asia are the perfect locations to engage for the first time in this lifestyle. Phuket is a mecca for a whole host of people who have the financial means to charter a yacht but have had little exposure to the lifestyle so far. As charter is a recognized means to yacht ownership, We believe that the TYS formula is the right way, and in the right place, to bring together the boating industry and new boating consumers.
The Thailand Yacht Show is set to revolutionise yacht shows in Asia. While most shows employ a static, “viewing only” concept, the 2018 Thailand Yacht Show will tear-up the traditional format and create a 360-degree experiential event that engages with visitors, VIPs, industry stakeholders and media alike, in a 4-day festival of on-water lifestyle and sport.
TYS 2018 will become an all-encompassing on-water festival of marine lifestyle and sport – the original vision for the event. And, with its immediate access into the idyllic waters of Phang Nga Bay, the reason for choosing Ao Po Grand Marina as the ideal venue. Working with partners in China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia and all around the region, organisers will host exclusive VIP programmes for guests to experience the yachting lifestyle.
Asia is a new market for international yacht builders and brokers; local interest in the marine leisure scene is rapidly developing. As the ranks of Asia's super-rich continue to swell, their members seek new leisure interests and ways to invest their wealth.
Our show exhibitors benefit from direct interaction with new millionaires and billionaires from the region, attracted to the yachting lifestyle and all that Phuket has to offer.
